What happens when we begin to see the River Shannon not simply as a resource, or water running through the landscape, but as a living part of our cultural heritage? This gathering at Lough Derg brings together all who care for the wellbeing of the Shannon: communities, heritage practitioners, local knowledge holders and others connected to the Shannon to explore the relationship between river rights, cultural heritage and place.

SRCP Lead Organisation is CELT, a member of the Irish Environmental Network receiving funding from the Department of Communications, Climate Action and Environment (DCCAE) The Sfunded by the Community Water Development Program of the River Basin Management Service(formerly LAWPRO), supported in turn by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage.
